FABRIC DETAILS

Double-Sided Satin Parade Flag (120gsm Duplex Satin) — A satin weave that catches light along its length — the decorator's fabric, specified for parade & podium.

Satin is a weave structure, not a fibre. Long floating yarns on the surface reflect light in a continuous sweep rather than scattering it, which is where the characteristic sheen comes from. That same structure gives satin its fluid drape: it falls into soft folds and catches highlights along every curve, which is why it dominates wedding and event décor.

Ceremonial work is seen close up, often carried by hand, and frequently photographed for the record. It needs presence at arm's length as well as at distance.

Best for

  • Podium and lectern front banners
  • Hand-held parade banners
  • Marching band banners
  • Parade sashes and ribbon banners
  • Pageant and award backdrops

Key advantages

  • Fluid drape that falls into soft natural folds rather than hanging stiff
  • Lustrous face picks up highlights beautifully under warm and directional lighting
  • Dye-sublimated colour reads deep and saturated against the sheen
  • Sews readily into swags, drapes, runners and gathered treatments
  • Photographs exceptionally well, which matters for event and wedding work

Choosing the right specification

For anything carried rather than hung, weight is the deciding factor. A satin or taffeta stays manageable across a long procession where a heavier cloth becomes genuinely tiring, especially for younger participants. Have the carrying hardware in front of you when you order — pole diameter determines the sleeve, and a sleeve that is a centimetre too tight is useless.

How ordering works

  • Send your artwork — Upload print-ready artwork at any stage — we check scale, resolution and bleed before anything goes to press and come back to you if something needs adjusting.
  • Made to your size — Every panel is cut and finished to your dimensions. Tell us the finished size you need and how it is being fixed, and we will allow for hems and fixings correctly.
  • Printed by dye-sublimation — Colour is transferred into the polyester fibre under heat, so the image becomes part of the cloth rather than a layer sitting on top of it.
  • Finished and shipped — Hems, eyelets, pole pockets, silicone edge and other finishing are applied before your order is folded, boxed and dispatched worldwide.

Technical detail

What to expect from service life. Indoors and out of direct sun, printed polyester holds its appearance for five years or more. Outdoors, published ranges for dye-sublimated polyester run from roughly six to twenty-four months depending on how exposed the position is, with the shorter end applying in high-ultraviolet regions such as the Southwest, Florida and the Gulf Coast, and in coastal or high-wind locations. Sheltered and north-facing installations reach the longer end. Coated and tarpaulin-grade constructions extend beyond that band because the coating carries the UV load.

Best suited to

Indoor décor where drape and light are doing the work — wedding and ceremony backdrops, reception drapes, processional banners and podium fronts.
