How Seams Appear on Finished Prints
Two panels are joined along a narrow, straight sewn seam. Seam visibility varies by fabric, finish and viewing distance.
Most seams become less noticeable from a normal viewing distance, but some fabrics show them more clearly.

Backlit graphics
Light passes through the fabric, making the sewn join more visible. For lightboxes, keep the graphic to a single panel where possible and tell us it will be backlit when you order. If multiple panels are required, we can advise on the best construction for the application.
Sheer, glossy and backlit fabrics tend to reveal seams; matte, heavy and textured fabrics tend to hide them.

Customize Your Seam Placement
Seams are centred by default. For three or more panels, seams are evenly spaced. Need one moved away from key artwork?
Tell us before printing
- Choose the position — Keep seams away from faces, logos, text and other key details.
- See it before we print — Your requested seam position is shown on your free digital proof for approval.
What Works Across a Seam
- Works well — Photography, skies, gradients, foliage and soft backgrounds.
- Keep clear — Fine type under 30 mm, logos, wordmarks and registered symbols.
- Avoid across the seam — Thin rules, grid lines and tight repeating patterns where small shifts may be visible.
Colour Across the Join
- Printed together — All panels for one piece are printed in a single run, from one roll and on one press for continuous colour.
- Replacement panels may vary — Small colour shifts between separate dye-sublimation batches are normal.
- For the closest colour match — Order the complete piece at the same time.
