Bar-Height Café Barrier — made to your size in a choice of 2 fabrics, from 190gsm to 480gsm.
Café barriers work outdoors all season, define a licensed boundary, cut wind at table height and carry branding — usually while being folded away every night and put back out every morning.
This product is offered across more than one fabric because the right answer depends on where the panel is going and how long it needs to last. The table below sets every option side by side on the specifications that actually decide the choice — weight, opacity, finish and weather behaviour — so you can compare them directly rather than opening a page for each one.
About this format
Barrier panels are fixed between posts at table height, so they take wind sideways rather than vertically. Fix at close centres and check the post spacing before ordering — a panel cut for the wrong bay will not tension.
Best for
- Standard café windbreak banners
- Retractable barrier banners
- Terrace and beer-garden dividers
- Bar-height barrier panels
- Licensed-boundary screening

Which fabric should you choose?
- 300D WP Stain-Resistant — A polyurethane-backed weave for the jobs that live outside through whatever the season brings.
- 600D Tarpaulin (480gsm) — The heaviest cloth we print — specified when a graphic has to stay up for years, not months.
Key advantages
- One product, 2 fabric specifications — compare and choose without leaving the page
- Polyurethane back coating stops rain passing through the weave
- Coated surface resists dirt pickup and wipes down between installations
- Added opacity keeps colour dense and stops light washing the artwork out
- Substantially longer outdoor service than uncoated knits and light wovens
Choosing the right specification
Buy for the handling cycle, not just the weather. A barrier that goes out and comes in daily gets far more wear from that routine than from rain. A coated fabric that wipes clean and does not absorb moisture will still look presentable in September; an uncoated cloth will be grubby and stretched by July.
How ordering works
- Send your artwork — Upload print-ready artwork at any stage — we check scale, resolution and bleed before anything goes to press and come back to you if something needs adjusting.
- Made to your size — Every panel is cut and finished to your dimensions. Tell us the finished size you need and how it is being fixed, and we will allow for hems and fixings correctly.
- Printed by dye-sublimation — Colour is transferred into the polyester fibre under heat, so the image becomes part of the cloth rather than a layer sitting on top of it.
- Finished and shipped — Hems, eyelets, pole pockets, silicone edge and other finishing are applied before your order is folded, boxed and dispatched worldwide.

Technical detail
How water resistance is measured. Resistance to water penetration is quoted as hydrostatic head in millimetres and tested under AATCC 127 in the United States, or the equivalent ISO 811 in Europe. Pressure is raised at a constant rate against the fabric until three points of leakage appear, and the height of the water column at that moment is the rating. A polyurethane coating applied at 80-120 g/m² typically delivers 1,200 mm or more, and 600D PU-coated constructions of this type usually sit in the 1,200-1,500 mm band. These are typical figures for the construction rather than a measured result for your specific roll — ask us if you need a tested value for an order.
What to expect from service life. Indoors and out of direct sun, printed polyester holds its appearance for five years or more. Outdoors, published ranges for dye-sublimated polyester run from roughly six to twenty-four months depending on how exposed the position is, with the shorter end applying in high-ultraviolet regions such as the Southwest, Florida and the Gulf Coast, and in coastal or high-wind locations. Sheltered and north-facing installations reach the longer end. Coated and tarpaulin-grade constructions extend beyond that band because the coating carries the UV load.
Best suited to
Long-term outdoor installations that live through the weather — fence banners, building and scaffold wraps, café barriers and outdoor table covers.
